Eesti Meedia Group, the owner of, one of the leading online news outlet in Lithuania, is buying Allegro Baltics from South African-owned Naspers.

Estonian-registered Allegro Baltics controls Diginet LT, the owner of Lithuania's classifieds sites,, and other websites, reported on Tuesday.

The deal, whose worth has not been disclosed, is yet to be approved by the Lithuanian Competition Council.

Eesti Meedia is a shareholder of the Baltic News Service (BNS). It also controls in Latvia and in Estonia.
