In addition, board chairman Darius Nedzinskas and two independent board members are also resigning. The board still includes three members delegated by the municipality.

Ignatavičius has been heading Vilniaus Vandenys for almost two years since early 2016. Before the appointment, he was the CEO at then electricity distribution company Lesto, which is now known as ESO.

The Vilnius municipality's Anti-Corruption Commission headed by the opposition Lithuanian Freedom Union (liberals) recently accused Vilniaus Vandenys of selling its central office in Vilnius Old Town at a low price.

Furthermore, there were disagreements with the main shareholder, the municipality's administration, over a bonus of 27,500 euros for outstanding performance.
