Margarita Drobiazko and Povilas Vanagas – the most famous Lithuanian Ice Dance couple – have become the ambassadors of the Junior Grand Prix „Amber Cup" in Lithuania. The most favorite Lithuanian skaters of all times are very happy and proud about their new title and promise an interesting event not only for the spectators, but also for the participants. According to Povilas, „Only the best skaters come to these events as the number of participants is strictly regulated by the International Skating Union. That's why the Grand Prix series serve as mini World Championships to every skater. When a skater is invited to take part at the Grand Prix for the first time it is a very important step forward for the athlete's career.

P. Vanagas says that he and Margarita have always dreamt of the Grand Prix events taking place in France, Canada or USA. These are the countries where the audience is especially warm and welcoming towards the skaters. However, Povilas has no doubt that after the Grand Prix in Lithuania, everyone will be willing to come back here: „We, Lithuanians, will welcome every skater with huge ovations and will turn this event into a celebration not only for ourselves as spectators, but for the skaters by strongly supporting them."

Lilija Vanagienė - the president of Lithuanian Skating Federation refers to this event as a dream come true since the times of Margarita and Povilas: „The International Skating Union's right to host one of the most important figure skating events in Lithuania is not only very joyful but at the same time responsible federation's task, which will hopefully serve as an advantage for hosting the 2022 European figure skating Championships in Kaunas."

According to L. Vanagienė, the European Championships of 2022 will be exceptional because it will be the strongest one in the 4 years Olympic cycle. It would be the last event, the last test for athletes before the 2022 Winter Olympic Games; therefore not only the attention of all Europe, but the whole world would be pointed to Lithuania. Moreover, the European Championships of 2022 would be special for Lithuanian Ice Dance couple Allison Reed and Saulius Ambrulevičius who are the main candidates to participate in 2022 Winter Olympic Games. „Skating on home ice with the support of largely Lithuanian audience is way more motivating and encouraging", - says L. Vanagienė.

On the 6th of September the figure skating event taking place in Lithuania for the first time is promised to be an unforgettable one, where incredible spins, jumps, speed, dance elements and magical music will be connected to create ambitious and unforgettable performances.
