Lithuania's parliamentarians on Tuesday opened legal amendments proposed by President Dalia Grybauskaitė to enable the country's law-enforcement to put financial offenders who have fled the country on trial.
Lithuania's government should Wednesday discuss the position to be held in the suit filed against Lithuania by Vladimir Antonov, former main shareholder of bankrupt bank Snoras, that is heard in Russian courts.
A Vilnius court has granted a freezing injunction against some 500 million euros in funds of Raimondas Baranauskas and Vladimir Antonov, the former owners of the now-bankrupt Lithuanian bank Snoras, and their accounts in Swiss banks.
