"Technical information available to the Communications Regulatory Authority, there are 105 domains in Lithuania that are possibly infected with the virus," Rytis Rainys, director of the RRT Networks and Information Security Department, told BNS on Monday.
In his words, the list of infected domains does not include any objects of state importance or other crucial systems.
The authority's specialists advises users to download Microsoft updates published back in March, recommending that systems that do not have any relevant updates should be disconnected from the network or fully switched off. System administrators are advised to block ports 137, 138, 139 and 445 that the virus uses for spreading in networks.
WannaCry has affected over 150,000 computers worldwide. During an attack, the ransomware encrypts user files, and the organizers demand their victims to pay a ransom in virtual currency bitcoin for recovering access to the information.
Experts recommend against paying a ransom for preservation or decoding of data, as there are no guarantees that the hackers would keep their word.
