HBO project in Lithuania of outstanding volume - head of Film Center

The miniseries about the Chernobyl nuclear disaster to be filmed in Lithuania by the US HBO television will be the second project of a similar size to be implemented in the Baltic state, says Rolandas Kvietkauskas, CEO of the Lithuanian Film Center.
Today, the Baltic Focus events dedicated to Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia are launching within the programme of the industry days of the International Odessa Film Festival, the Lithuanian Film Centre wrote in a press release.
On 22 May, 2017, during the 70th Cannes International Film Festival, representatives of the Polish Film Institute and the Lithuanian Film Centre – director Magdalena Sroka and director Rolandas Kvietkauskas – signed an agreement to strengthen cooperation between the two national institutions in the field of cinematography and the implementation of joint film projects.
Lithuania will be hosting a stand at the European Film Market, an international film industry event that takes place during the Berlin International Film Festival and opens today. The stand will present Lithuanian film industry, tax concession for film production, and the latest Lithuanian projects. Two feature films supported by Lithuania will be screened for foreign film professionals, and a Lithuanian project will be introduced in the special “Berlinale Talents” programme.
The Baltic Film Days will be held in Vilnius for the first time at the end of August – it is a unique event featuring Lithuanian, Latvian and Estonian productions on the same week in Riga, Tallinn and Vilnius, the Lithuanian Film Center said.
