This year the Lithuanian Chamber of Commerce in the United Kingdom (LCCUK) celebrates its 10th anniversary. It has become a custom and tradition for LCCUK to support charitable causes and those who are less fortunate. This year we are supporting Lithuanian children affected by cancer.
Vilnius has been suggested to establish the World Litvak Museum and restore a Jewish research institute, as well as pay tribute to the memory of Jews who contributed to the restoration of Lithuania's statehood in the government building.
To promote voting in general election this October amongst the diaspora, the Lithuanian Youth Association of the UK (JKLJS) with partners organized a political debate at the University College London. The event packed large Darwin hall with live streaming being watched by Lithuanians in the US, Netherlands and Norway.
The Lithuanian World Community (PLB) has stressed that the votes (or lack of) of the many Lithuanian expatriates could decide up to half of the Seimas’ composition. A PLB announcement urges expatriates to actively register for voting and vote responsibly with the registration deadline tomorrow.
