Third-country nationals to be issued short-term Schengen visas on Lithuanian border

Citizens of Russia and other third countries will be able to get short-term visas to the Schengen zone on the border of the area, including Lithuania, starting next year, the Lietuvos Žinios daily reports.
The proposal by UK Prime Minister Theresa May for European Union (EU) citizens present in the country should ease tensions among the Lithuanians living in great Britain, says Daiva Asanavičiūtė, the leader of the local Lithuanian community.
The European Union (EU) should consolidate in the field of defense and countries of the euro area should also deepen their cooperation, Spain's Foreign Minister Alfonso Dastis said in Vilnius on Wednesday.
