PM vows to insist on non-discrimination against Lithuanians in Brexit talks

In talks on Britain's exit from the European Union, the Lithuanian government will demand assurances that Lithuanians living in the UK will not be discriminated against, Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis said on Tuesday ahead of a meeting with Britain's Brexit secretary.
In an unconventional effort to convince EU officials that Belarus' nuclear power plant is a safety hazard, the Lithuanian government has arranged a hot-air balloon ride for the bloc's energy commissioner to show him how close the construction site is to the Lithuanian capital.
Lithuania has been too slow to absorb EU aid for the 2014-2020 financing period, which may decelerate economic and wage growth and result in losing a part of European support, the Finance Ministry has warned.
