Lithuanian MEP Landsbergis to head EP Central Asia Delegation

Member of the European Parliament Gabrielius Landsbergis was appointed as the head of the EP Central Asian Delegation. Member of the Homeland Union-Lithuanian Christian Democrats (TS-LKD) and the EEP group in the EP will head the Delegation to the EU-Kazakhstan, EU-Kyrgyzstan and EU-Uzbekistan Parliamentary Cooperation Committees, and for relations with Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Mongolia.
The Seimas of Lithuania has backed the nomination of Vytenis Povilas Andriukaitis, of the Social Democratic Party, for European commissioner representing Lithuania. Eighty-two lawmakers on Thursday voted in favour of the motion, 10 were against and 16 abstained.
