Belarus could be Putin's next target - Kasparov tells

Belarus could be the next country targeted by Russia's President Vladimir Putin after Ukraine, Russian opposition figure Gary Kasparov, former world chess champion currently residing in the US, has said at a Vilnius conference.
There will be no thaw in the energy dialog between the EU and Belarus until Minsk proves that the nuclear power plant it is building not far from Vilnius is safe, EU Energy Union Commissioner Maros Sefcovic said in the Lithuanian capital on Thursday.
Amid doubts whether Lithuania's efforts to impose an embargo on electricity from the Astravyets nuclear power plant under construction in Belarus will be compatible with WTO rules, Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis says that the country will ensure that power from unsafe facilities has no access to its market.
